The Scholars Program

The Scholars Program at Clarkson University is designed to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and professional excellence. Students who are accepted into the program receive up to $25,000 in tuition scholarship and the opportunity to replace two electives with a research project completed in conjunction with a faculty mentor.

Up to 10 exceptional management students will be selected for the program for Fall 2018, based on their commitment to excellence in professional and academic pursuits. Applications will be accepted until May 31st, 2018. 

Program Benefits

  • A scholarship that covers 50% of tuition for three years, up to $25,000
  • A specially-assigned faculty or industry mentor in the student’s area of professional interest
  • The option to pursue a faculty-guided research project in place of two elective courses

Program Requirements

To be considered for the program, applicants must meet the following guidelines:

For the MBA Program or MS in Data Analytics:

  • Five or more years professional work experience
  • One year or more of management or supervisory experience
  • 3.5 undergraduate GPA or a graduate degree

For the MBA in Healthcare Management or MS in Healthcare Data Analytics:

  • Licensed practitioner
    • Graduate-level training
    • Three years post-residency or training
      OR
  • Manager or BSN at a healthcare provider or healthcare payer services
    • Five or more years of professional work experience
    • One year or more of management or supervisory experience
    • 3.5 undergraduate GPA or a graduate degree

Any scholarship awarded will be in place of previous awards from Clarkson University. Scholars must maintain a 3.2 GPA to remain in the program.

Application Process

To complete the Scholars Program application, the following items are required:

  • A completed application for admission to Clarkson University must be submitted. Apply here.
  • A supplemental statement of interest for the Scholars Program must be uploaded using the form on this page. The supplemental statement of interest must answer the following question in under 500 words: What is a healthcare, business or management issue you feel passionate about? Submit your essay using the form on this page. 
  • An interview, by phone or in person, is required.
